"The Dominican Crisis: A Case Study in American Policy”, in Commentary (Journal)
Theodore H. "Ted" Draper (September 11, 1912 – February 21, 2006) was an American historian and political writer. Draper is best known for the 14 books he completed during his life, including work regarded as seminal on the formative period of the American Communist Party, the Cuban Revolution, and the Iran-Contra Affair. Draper was a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the 1990 recipient of the Herbert Feis Award for Nonacademically Affiliated Historians from the American Historical Association.
Commentary is a monthly American magazine on religion, Judaism, politics, social and cultural issues. Founded by the American Jewish Committee in 1945, it was edited by Norman Podhoretz from 1960 to 1995. Besides its strong coverage of cultural issues, Commentary provided a strong voice for the anti-Stalinist left. Podhoretz, originally a liberal Democrat turned neoconservative, moved the magazine to right and toward the Republican Party in the 1970s and 1980s.

England vs. Spain in America, 1739-1748: the Spanish Side of the Hill (Separata)
The War of Jenkins' Ear (known as Guerra del Asiento in Spain) was a conflict between Britain and Spain that lasted from 1739 to 1748, with major operations largely ended by 1742. Its unusual name, coined by Thomas Carlyle in 1858,[5] refers to an ear severed from Robert Jenkins, a captain of a British merchant ship and acknowledged smuggler. The severed ear was subsequently exhibited before the British Parliament.

Folk Songs of Guyana in Words and Music: Queh-queh, Chanties and Plantation Themes
Percy A. Brathwaite has been considered by some to be one of Guyana's prominent musical critics during the mid-20th century. He has been considered a pioneer - one of the first persons to regularly write reviews on musical and other cultural events in Guyana. During the 1940s through the 1960s his reviews were published in The Daily Argosy and The Daily Chronicle through columns such as The Forum and The Clef. Brathwaite's framework for evaluating music in Guyana was based on formal training in the European genres and solid exposure to Guyanese hinterland, rural, and urban idioms. His critical abilities were further sharpened by his significant personal experiences as a hinterland worker, choir founder and conductor, amateur athletic coach, folk researcher and song catcher, scoutmaster, journalist, music teacher, poet, labour leader, and author. Braithwaite, who died at the age of 90 in 1993, is remembered as a versatile man - a Renaissance man.
