Haiti: Land of Poverty

Tata, Robert J., Haiti: Land of Poverty, Lanham, Maryland: University Press of America, 1982.

From the introduction:
Haiti's poverty suggests "malfunctioning" of physical, social, economic , and political systems. In the following pages, we will attempt to analyze the structure and functioning of each system individually to assess its advantages or disadvantages for promoting human welfare. Then we will examine the interrelationship among all four systems. The results of this analysis will be a relatively comprehensive view of Haiti's problems and prospects for modernization.
