The Four Voyages of Christopher Columbus

Cohen, J.M., The Four Voyages of Christopher Columbus, England: Penguin Books, 1969.
J. M. Cohen has skillfully woven together Columbus’s log-books and letters, the biography by his son Hernando, the official history by Oviedo, and the letters of the fleet physician and a loyal lieutenant, and the result is a unique contemporary record of a great adventure as it unfolds.

J. M. (John Michael) Cohen (5 February 1903 – 19 July 1989) was a prolific translator (into English) of European literature. Born in London, he was a graduate of Cambridge University. (…) In addition to his translations of major works of Spanish and French literature for Penguin, Cohen also edited several important anthologies of Spanish and Latin American literature, as well as many of the Penguin Classics.
